ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Nurturing your child’s best.

PAREF Ridgefield School (Iloilo), a preparatory school for boys and girls, is an affiliate of PAREF Westbridge School for Boys in Lapaz, Iloilo City and a branch of PAREF Ridgefield in Muntinlupa City.

It opened its doors on May 2, 2011 with a 10-day summer program called VIRTUES MAKE LEARNING FUN.

Ridgefield (Iloilo) is a unique school where close collaboration between the parents and the school is seen as the key to the total formation of the children. It can be characterized as a Home Atmosphere School where children are given close, warm and highly personalized guidance from all school personnel.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM
PAREF Ridgefield uses the balanced approach to education wherein the child’s intellectual development and character formation are nurtured equally.  Our thematic style of presenting lessons facilitates the process of learning.  In each activity two goals are met: The child learns important life skills and is stimulated to participate in the developmentally appropriate lessons prepared for them by our teachers.
The structured themes and varied strategies used inside and outside the classroom provide opportunities for children to be involved in the acquisition of knowledge and understanding.  Seeing each child as a unique individual with specific needs, both teacher and student-initiated activities are designed in such a way that the child’s creativity and freedom are fostered and exercised.
Ridgefield teachers organize enriching learning activities like field trips, creative group and individual presentations, stimulating art activities, intellectually-engaging games and movement activities, cooking and creative writing.
In addition, each child’s progress is evaluated in such a way that the process of reasoning out to arrive at an answer or conclusion is given as much weight as the answer itself. This way, the level of comprehension is better seen and appropriate remedies can be applied to address the needs of the child.

PERSONAL FORMATION
The home – school collaboration system that we are using fosters unity and consistency in our goals for the child:

a. The PARENTS first…

We offer parenting sessions and mentoring chats to help our parents get to know and understand their children well both at home and in school. Being the first educators, these activities are tools for them to tackle the parenting job with enthusiasm and confidence.

b. then the TEACHERS …

Our highly dedicated teachers also receive character building classes and activities to aid them in transmitting to our pupils the virtues by striving to live the virtues themselves.

c. and the PUPILS will follow…

With the partnership of both parents and teachers, the child necessarily gets the best s/he deserves from both the home and the school.
